Stephen Carlson
Senior Trial Attorney
Stephen G. Carlson is the Senior Trial Attorney at Fry | Goehring. Stephen has litigated from both sides of the courtroom for over a decade. His wealth of experience provides extraordinary knowledge and invaluable perspective in successfully and aggressively advocating for his clients.
Stephen’s career has been primarily focused on plaintiff’s personal injury practice, including, but not limited to; automobile, trucking, and motorcycle collisions, catastrophic claims, pedestrian injuries, premises liability, negligent security, dram shop matters, wrongful death, and general negligence. He has also practiced in the areas of workers’ compensation, property subrogation and recovery, transportation law, product liability, construction defects, professional liability, medical malpractice, and nursing home abuse.
Stephen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and graduated from Emory University School of Law. While in law school, he earned numerous writing awards and performance accolades, was a student advocate for the Henry County Public Defender’s Office, and traveled to South Korea for an internship with the Constitutional Court of Korea.
Upon graduating from law school, Stephen represented corporations and insurance companies in defending against negligence actions. He then entered into plaintiffs’ litigation, where his practice focused on representing individuals for claims due to the negligence of others. He has mediated and tried numerous cases in Georgia and throughout the nation, in both state and federal courts, and has collectively won millions of dollars for his clients. After a brief foray into the defense world of trucking and transportation litigation, Stephen has returned to plaintiff’s practice with fresh insight and renewed vigor in fighting for his clients.
Stephen is admitted to practice law in all Georgia State Courts and all United States District Courts in Georgia. He is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association. Since 2018, Stephen has been nominated annually to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars and Top 40 Under 40 lists.
Stephen is a happily married father of twins. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, sports, food, traveling, and spending time with his family. Stephen is also a proud season ticket holder of the Atlanta Falcons and an avid Virginia Cavaliers fan.
